Today at the Tsutsumi plant near Toyota city, the president of Toyota automobiles Mr. Toyoda Akio announced its first batch of the new Toyota Prius in japan. Orders booked for this new hot item coming from the kitchen of the automobile giants exceeded expectations to the extent that the president himself had to help out at the production line due to shortage of staffs .
The new hybrid is the first car based on the Toyota New generation Architecture (TMG), itself a hybrid of modular construction and a complete overhaul of the venerable Toyota production system ( TPS). The Prius ranks eight on the Japanese charts maintained by the Japanese automobile dealers association . Toyota said today that it received domestic orders for around 60,000 units for the new car in its books today
